Confession.......

Isn't it said that confessions are good for the soul?  Hmmmm.....  But, I do have a small one.  The poem I posted yesterday was, in fact, posted before.  My record keeping was faulty; I have since discovered the repetition.  So, for your poetry pleasure, a different one.  This one was composed after I was trained on my first word processing software..............Oy!

ZAP

With a tick and a click,
Images magically appear.
Zip, zap, what's the trick?
CPU's hum, whisper and domineer.
Monitors sizzle and flicker.
Hard drives, memory, brains within chips,
Sure, computers are quicker.
Press a key, a file unzips.
Use the mouse, cut, paste,
Transfiguring thoughts, information.
No paper, no waste,
Lines pulsating with ambition.
Things bought, sold,
Hearts united electrically.
At your fingertips the answers unfold.
A world transformed electronically.

A Small Contribution:

It has been over a month since my last post.  I've been working on a particular piece for a long time; I keep going over and over it - always changing something.  Some of my thoughts come together easily, but this piece is proving more challenging.  Anyway, for the interim I will share some more poetry.  Admittedly, most of my poems were written 20 years ago, and that muse has long since passed away.  For your enjoyment, or otherwise:

WHY?

Sometimes I wonder why?
Other times I lament, why not?

Each day the dispute is renewed,
Never adequately solved.
Why does the sun come up?
Why does it go down?
Each day we all do what we do.
Some of us face great burdens,
Some of us only face a few.
Some of us love passionately,
Others never love at all.
Some of us are satisfied,
Others are constantly searching.
Many face challenges courageously,
Others run.
Some things change,
Others stay the same.
Each day, each one of us goes on,
Sometimes facing happy, joyful opportunities,
Other times sorrowful, agonizing truths.
The question remains,
Why?  Or, should it be, why not?
